When it comes to living with the earth, there is nothing more needed than the use of baskets, containers, vessels and tools. During this exciting hands-on class, students will have fun being challenged to use clay, mud, bark, roots, grasses, sticks and leaves in order to create a multitude of different objects that were used in day to day life long ago. Experienced outdoor educators will work closely with students to make sure safety is used at all times during the day. Students will also explore areas of:
- How to use stone cutting tools
- How to harvest natural materials
- Different styles of baskets, bags & bowls
- Using and taking care of your tools & crafts
- Make in more once home
In addition to the above, students will also get a chance to see how ancient tools and crafts were utilized for harvesting other food, resources and materials a long ago. Through hands-on collection, crafting, and creative construction we will show students how to live easy with only your brain, hands and resources from our earth. Join as we take a blast into the past to see how life long ago was lived by ancient man and woman.
