Natureversity Program Agreements & Community Expectations
At Natureversity, we work hard to cultivate a safe and respectful outdoor learning environment. All participants—students, staff, and families—must help us in this mission by upholding our following core principles. Violations may result in restorative interventions or dismissal from our programs, class or camps.
Our Five Community Agreements

Follow teacher directions promptly.
-
Use throw sticks, cutting tools and fire only with permission.

Honor peers, staff, wildlife, and the land.
-
No violence, bullying, or harmful language.
-
Handle living things (plants, animals) with care.
-
-
CLEAR COMMUNICATION
-
Voice concerns calmly to staff.
-
Actively listen during group discussions.
-
Communicate your needs to others.
-
-
LEAVE NO TRACE
-
Throw away trash.
-
Minimize impact on natural spaces.
-
Use resources (water, firewood) mindfully.
-
-
COMMITMENT TO RESOLUTION
-
Engage in restorative and reflective listen together.
-
Accept natural consequences (e.g., repairing damage).
-
Allow space for apologies and growth.
-
Unacceptable Behaviors
Zero-tolerance actions:
-
Possession/use of drugs, alcohol, or weapons.
-
Intentional harm to people, wildlife, or school or park property.
-
Repeated refusal to follow safety protocols.
Behavior Response Protocol
Staff use progressive steps to restore harmony:
-
Reminder – Nonverbal cue or verbal redirection.
-
Restorative Dialogue – “What happened? How can we fix it?”
-
Parent Partnership – Call/home collaboration for solutions.
-
Temporary Pause – Early pickup or day away.
-
Dismissal – For severe/repeated violations (no refunds offered).
Note: Physical safety risks skip to Step 5.
Though it is rare for Natureversity to have serious behavioral or discipline problems with our students or campers, it is necessary for us to let families know about our dismissal policy in the unlikely event that we do encounter difficulties.
