Go beyond the basic skills of modern survival and enter the world of the primal hunter-gatherer. For thousands of years, men and women lived close to the land and utilized only the resources from it in order to survive day to day. From building a shelter of logs and leaves, to starting fires using friction, the skills required to lived off the land took a lifetime to master. During this exciting and inspirational weekend students will get a chance to practice the basic of:
- Wilderness awareness & safety
- Stone tool knife making
- Natural shelter building methods
- Friction fire making methods
- Cordage making & simple containers
- Simple edible & medicinal plants
- Primitive hunting & trapping methods
- Making primitive tools & utensils
- Primitive cooking methods
Our goal is to give you an introduction into the world of primitive life on earth long ago. At the same time we want to give you the ability to rely on your hard earned skills rather than your purchased gear. This is the most important thing you can take away from this class besides some cool primitive tools to take home and show you’re family and friends. Our hope is that this class inspires your to live closer to your home around you. To gain a sense of awareness, to feel like you belong and to connect to yourself, your community and the earth.
