Get ready to learn what it takes to survive the wilderness using modern day gear. We will solve various tasks of making a shelter using tarps, starting fires using ferro rods, making out of wood with our knives and shooting bows & arrows. Unpack and settle down we also explore:
- What goes into a survival kit
- How to tie knots for tarp shelters
- Forage for wild edible foods
- Setting up a camp kitchen
- Using slingshots and fishing nets
- Map reading and simple navigation
In addition to the above, campers will also be shown how to take care of themselves when it comes to outdoor travel. Things such as keeping up with their gear, keeping their space clean in the park, the importance of staying hydrated and how to not get lost. This is a very exciting hands-on camp where parents should expect kids to come home wet, dirty and tired at the end of each day, but filled with stories of adventures and challenges as well as new skills to share with friends and family each day. Camps fill fast, so register today!
