Basic gear for all adult classes
Below you will find the basic supplies that are required for each class. If there is anything more specific you will receive an email from us after you register for your class.
- Notebook and Pen/pencil
- Camp Chair or something to sit on
- Weather appropriate clothing and footwear. This includes rain gear, footwear and clothing that can get wet and/or dirty
- Water bottle (1-liter minimum)
- Fixed blade (non-folding) camp knife – we recommend a Mora Fixed Blade Companion Knife*
- Backpack or day pack for carrying supplies
Camping and overnight classes
For overnight classes camping is provided. Students may spend the night before or after course days in order for travel plans to work out. Bathroom and shower facilities are available for any overnight classes. Parking is also available for the duration of your course.
Food
For day classes, please bring your own lunch and or snacks with you for the day.
For overnight classes, meals will be provided during the duration of the class. We seek to provide the highest quality food for complete and well rounded meals. Nearly all of the food we cook is local and/or organic, and prepared by you and the staff together. Please make us aware of any special food needs in advance of the class when registering. We can accommodate vegetarian, gluten free, egg free, pork free, and dairy free diets. If you have other unique dietary restrictions, we may not be able to accommodate you, but would recommend you to both contact us and bring some food of your own. We always recommend to all students to bring snacks to help keep you comfortable, focused, and happy with your brain and body sated.
Overnight classes
- A tent or tarp setup to keep you and your gear safe & dry
- A insulate pad, therm-a-rest, or sleeping pad to elevate you off of the ground while you sleep
- A sturdy bag to hold your belongings and keep them dry**
- Sleeping bag/blankets/pillow
- Mug or thermos
- Toiletries
- Mess Kit (Plate, bowl, and utensils)
What you may want to also bring:
- Chair
- Camera/voice recorder
- A towel and bathing suit, if during the warmer months
- Snacks
- Tools and materials pertaining to the class (if required only)
- Insect repellent
Please do NOT bring the following to any classes:
- Alcohol
- Firearms
- Drugs
- Fireworks
- Pets
*A carving knife is always a good item to have on hand for all adult classes. If you don’t own one and would like to, we would recommend a Mora fixed blade camp knife. If you would like to purchase one from us, we do have Mora knives for sale – $20
**Please pack in a way that allows you to comfortably carry your gear for a short hike. When packing, make please ensure that you take care of your basic needs so as to focus on the class. Furthermore, small comfort items such as snacks, extra socks, and so on can be the needed thing.
