During this women only introduction overnight weekend class to the world of wilderness survival, you’ll get to experience all of the basics of living through a short-term survival situation. Participants will get hands-on training and practice in crucial outdoor living skills such as:

  • Outdoor hazards & wilderness safety
  • Safe knife care & carving
  • Principles of shelter building in the wild
  • Starting fires with modern methods
  • Locating & purifying wilderness waters
  • Rope use & basic knot tying
  • Simple navigation & lost proofing
  • Signaling & aiding search and rescue

In order to cover these topics, students will be given a wide variety of different scenarios and challenging activities in order to help turn knowledge into wisdom through hands-on experiences. Our goal is to give you the confidence needed to survive and to be the best person you can be in the worst situation you may find yourself in.

This is an overnight weekend class for adults, however camping is not required to take the class. If you would like to leave at the end of each day, that is fine. We encourage everyone to camp with us in order to get the full experience of the class, such as camp cooking in the later evening, survival stories around the fire after dinner, and/or night time star navigation techniques.
